J. Von Stratton and Danial Webster for HENDRICKS GIN

Danial and I collaborate on quite a few projects.  I simply love working with him.  Not only is it fun, but we get to make really cool things.
Like this Rose, for an event series with Hendricks Gin: Voyages Into The Unusual

Jungle Exotica

I recently performed at the 10th Anniversary of Seattle's Moisture Festival.  A month long extravaganza featuring acrobats and performers from around the world.
Alan Plotkin filmed my act on the opening night of the Libertease burlesque event.

Here, I pay a little homage to the artful styling of Cyd Charisse, in an act inspired by one of the dances in the 1958 film Party Girl.
"Exotica" was a pop culture phenomenon in the late 50's and 60's.  It was the non-native, pseudo experience of exotic locations and cultures, envisioned by westerners.  It was popularized in many films and music.  Martin Denny was a composer who stood at the forefront of the Exotica genre.

People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly

Oh how thrilling!
Jinkx Monsoon was photographed at the NYC crowning party in my J'Adore dress, and it was featured on Elle.com, People Magazine online, and Entertainment Weekly online (with a nice mention of my company.)
Thanks Jinkx, as always you're the People's Queen, and you do right by all of us who've helped you along the way.  I love you for that.

Jinkx Monsoon takes home the crown in a J. Von Stratton custom gown!

Our hometown hero proves to the world that the nice girls do win!  Combined with talent, personality, and a fierce set of stage skills, Jinkx Monsoon wins the crown all while staying true to herself and being kind and supportive of her competitors.

I've created a few of Jinkx' looks both on the show and on the Red Carpet.  When she came to me to create her reunion gown of course I was delighted by the idea.
Jinkx is fabulous to work with.  As a designer, she really lets me do what I do best, and come up with a plan for the concept she wanted.

You're a true winner babe, and you deserve every stone on that crown!

Check out this pic from Freedom Fantasia last year.  Forshadowing much! (Here I'm playing the role of Roxxy.)
